Hello! My name is Yolanè...
…and I am a storyteller.
Photographs remind us of the lives we’ve lived, the places we’ve been and the people we’ve loved. They are tangible memories that help us to relive our happiest, most significant moments, small everyday moments and everything in-between.
I love taking time to get to know my clients and discover what is important to them, because everyone I get to photograph is different and no two stories are alike. I prefer emotion and connection over posed editorial shots and I love capturing the candid in-between moments that makes your story unique.
I would be thrilled and honoured to witness and help you preserve the dearest, happiest moments of your life. Your wedding, your love, your story.
Let’s start planning your big day!
Your wedding is all about you, your family and dear friends. Be your true self. Show your fun, quirky personality. Do the things that make you happy. Laugh loudly. Kiss slowly. Hug tightly.

Kind words from my clients...
In the world of photography, you get to share a captured moment with other people.

A thing that you see in my pictures is that I was not afraid to fall in love with these people.

Frequently Asked Questions
In 2023 I will celebrate 20 years of photographing weddings.
I am based in Pretoria but service clients throughout South Africa.
Yes, Yes, Yes, I love doing destination weddings and no distance is too far!
My packages include a 40km round trip from Garsfontein, Pretoria thereafter I charge a travel fee based on the AA rate at the time.
Flights, accommodation & car hire are required for destination weddings. A custom quote will be sent to you depending on your needs and destination requirements.
If your wedding finishes after dark and there is a long drive home I will require overnight accommodation with two single beds for my assistant and myself.
Unfortunately not. At the moment I only accept EFT payments.
I prefer to meet couples before the wedding to connect and discuss the details of the day. I find it puts us at ease if we can get to know each better. If you are not in Pretoria we can set up a Zoom meeting.
I shoot digital.
Yes. Please keep in mind that after shooting for 6- 8 hours we will need somewhere to rest our feet whilst having a meal along with all the other guests, preferably in the main reception area so that we don’t miss out on any important moments.
I’m a Canon girl and shoot with top of the range full frame camera bodies, lenses and speedlights. I always have a backup camera with me when photographing a wedding.
I love working with natural light, however when necessary I do use speedlights.
Something to keep in mind is that most reception areas do not have enough light. Muted light is great for ambiance but not so much to create great reception shots. Arrange for enough light (not just candles) with your venue or wedding coordinator.
Yes, all my weddings are done with the help of an assistant to allow me to focus my full attention on the imagery. They help carry equipment, pass lenses, keep track of equipment and memory cards and handle reflectors used for lighting during the bridal and couple shoots, . They also make sure that we stick to our time schedule as close to as possible and doubles as a second shooter during the service, cocktail hour and reception. Their images go into post production with my own to allow for a uniform editing style and finished product.
Yes, I would love to do your engagement shoot. It is the perfect way to get to know each other and will help you to be more comfortable in front of my lens on your wedding day. This can be arranged at an additional cost, so please get in touch if you would like to book a session.
Yes, I offer premium quality photo books, as well as smaller options for family members. A wedding album is a family heirloom to be treasured and passed down through generations and viewing an image on a screen will never compete with paging through a beautifully printed album.
I book only a select few weddings a year so it’s best to book your wedding as soon as you have decided on a date.
I only take bookings up to 12 months in advance, but you are welcome to get in touch to get an idea of my rates.
Unfortunately not. A non-refundable booking fee and a signed contract are required to confirm your booking. It may happen that more than one couple share the same wedding date so first payment of booking fee secures the date.
If it’s possible I will make an appointment to visit a venue if I haven’t photographed there before. I usually do this in my own time and it is not necessary for you to come along, but you are welcome to join me if you prefer. If it’s a destination wedding or too far for a pre wedding day visit, I will allow time for location scouting the morning of your wedding.
The best time of the day for photographing portraits is at sunrise and sunset when the light is soft and golden. I prefer to do your couple shoot during the last 45 minutes before sunset. If you want to check what time the sun will set on your wedding, you can do so on Timeanddate.com.
That you feel comfortable with me and that you relax and enjoy every moment of your wedding day!
I would gladly help you to set up a timeline for your wedding day. If it is important to you to have really beautiful couple, bridal party and family portraits then ideally you would plan your ceremony around light. The best light for photography is either really early in the morning just after sunrise or during the last two hours before sunset. Have a look at what time the sun will set on your wedding day and work backwards from there. Remember to allow time for your guests to throw confetti and congratulate you, for all the important family portraits and then the couple shoot. Most photographers will need at least an hour for the couple shoot.
To ensure I have enough time for the most important moments I suggest taking the following time allocations into consideration –
-
Decor shots: 45 min. I prefer to photograph all the decor before going to the bride. Please arrange with the appropriate people to be done on time.
-
Bride before the ceremony: 1 – 1.5 hours
-
Groom before the ceremony: 45 min – 1 hour
-
Ceremony: 30 min – 1 hour (depending on the ceremony)
-
Family & Group shots: 20 min – 30 min (Please provide me with a list for group photo before the wedding)
-
Bridesmaids + Groomsmen: 15 min – 20 min
-
Couple photos: 45 min – 1 hour+
-
Reception: This is totally up to you. I do suggest that you do the cutting of the cake before you open the dance floor.
Yes! We can arrange for additional hours prior to the wedding or on the day of the wedding itself.
My style is more photojournalistic because I love capturing real and spontaneous moments, but I will guide you during the bridal and couple shoots.
No, I do not take group photos of guests at their tables. I do take plenty candid shots of your guests throughout the day, listening and reacting to speeches, laughing, dancing and enjoying the evening. If you want to ensure you have photos of all your guests, I suggest booking a photo booth. Your guests will have lots of fun and most photobooth companies will give you a digital copy of all the photos afterwards.
One week after your wedding you will receive a teaser gallery of a few images that will be downloadable via an online link to brag with on social media. The remainder of your photos will be delivered in edited, final format approximately 8 weeks from the date of your wedding.
All my packages include a high-res online photo gallery of images delivered via an internet transfer site called Pixieset. Clients can view and also share their complete wedding gallery with family and friends who can also download the images they want to keep. Fine Art prints and albums are an additional add-on available on all my packages.
Let's create magic together...
